Privacy Policy

Who we are
Paper Heroes is a game made by Poodleman Games LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game handles, who handles it, and the choices you have. It covers the Android app (package name com.poodlemangames.paperheroes), including the version on Google Play and the no-ads version, plus the desktop and iOS versions.
Summary
We do not collect, receive or store any personal information about you. There are no accounts, sign-ins, analytics or crash reports of our own.
- Your saved games and settings stay on your device.
- The Google Play version shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect device information, such as your advertising ID, to serve and measure those ads.
- If you buy Remove Ads, Google Play handles the payment. We never see your payment details.
- The no-ads Android version, the desktop version and the iOS version make no internet connections at all.
Information stored on your device
The game saves a few things in its own private storage on your device. None of it is sent to us.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Saved characters and runs: the names you type, appearance, level, gear, gold and dungeon progress | So you can continue where you left off |
| Settings: music and sound volume, and on desktop, fullscreen and installed DLC choices | So the game remembers your preferences |
| Whether you own Remove Ads (yes or no) | So ads stay off even when you're offline |
If you have turned on Android's own device backup, Android may include this data in your backup to your Google account. That backup is managed by Google under your account settings, not by us.
Advertising (Google Play version)
The Google Play version shows a short video ad before you save, load, start a new game or go down to the next floor. These ads come from Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. We do not receive any personal information from AdMob, only overall earnings reports.
To show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, AdMob may collect:
- your device's advertising ID, and on newer Android versions, signals from Android's Privacy Sandbox (ad topics and ad attribution)
- your IP address, and a rough location worked out from it
- device details, such as model, operating system version, language and network type
- how you interact with the ads, such as whether an ad was shown, watched or tapped
Google may use this information to show ads based on your interests (personalized ads). Google's use of this information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and by How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game first asks for your consent using Google's consent form. Your answer decides whether AdMob may show personalized ads, or only limited, non-personalized ones. No ads are requested until the form has been answered. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy Options.
You can reset your advertising ID, or delete it to opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices, Settings → Google → Ads). Buying Remove Ads stops the game from loading ads at all.
In-app purchase (Remove Ads)
Remove Ads is a one-time purchase made through Google Play Billing. Google handles the whole payment, including your payment method and billing details, under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play terms. We never see your card or bank details.
To confirm the purchase, Google Play gives the game a purchase record: the product bought, its status (completed or pending) and a purchase reference code. The game uses it only on your device to switch the ads off and to confirm the purchase back to Google Play. It keeps only a yes/no note that you own Remove Ads. The purchase is tied to your Google account, so reinstalling the game or moving to a new phone restores it.
Versions without ads
The no-ads Android version, the desktop version and the iOS version contain no advertising or purchase code and make no internet connections. The no-ads Android version doesn't even request internet access. In these versions, everything the game stores stays on your device, as described above. On desktop, downloadable content (DLC) is read from files on your own computer; the game doesn't download it or report it to anyone.
Permissions
The Google Play version asks Android for the permissions below. The game does not use your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
| Internet access and network state | To load ads and to talk to Google Play about purchases |
| Advertising ID, and ad topics and attribution (Privacy Sandbox) | Used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads, as described above |
| Google Play billing | To sell Remove Ads |
| Keep awake, run on startup, foreground service | Added by Google's ad and Play libraries to schedule their own background tasks, such as sending ad reports. The game itself does nothing in the background. |
The no-ads Android version asks for none of these.
Children's privacy
Paper Heroes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child's information has been collected through the ads in the game, contact us and we'll help you reach Google to have it removed.
Sharing, retention and security
We don't sell, rent or share personal information, because we don't receive any. The only other companies involved are Google, for ads (AdMob) and purchases (Google Play). They collect information directly, as described above, under their own policies.
What the game stores on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the game. It's kept in the game's private storage, which other apps can't read. Information Google collects for ads and purchases is kept according to the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your game data: delete a save in the game's character screen, or clear the app's storage or uninstall it in Android settings. That removes everything the game stored.
- Limit ad tracking: reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's ad settings (see Advertising above). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you can also change your ad consent in Settings → Privacy Options.
- Stop ads entirely: buy Remove Ads, or play the no-ads version.
- Data held by Google: view, download or delete it, and manage ad personalization, at myaccount.google.com.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU and UK) or the CCPA (California) may give you the right to access or delete your personal information. We hold none, but if you have a question or request, contact us and we'll help.
Changes and contact
If the game starts handling information differently, we'll update this policy, post the new version at the same address, and change its effective date. For anything major, we'll also mention it in the game's update notes.
